Castles and palaces abound in South Tyrol – Appiano and the surrounding area are the top hot spots.
If you want to get to know the medieval side of South Tyrol and follow the traces of the country’s history, we recommend the castle hike to the Appiano Castle Triangle at the foot of Monte Macaion. Taking path no. 9, this art-historical hike leads first to the castle of Hocheppan, one of the most important fortifications in South Tyrol. Then it continues to the ruins of Boymont castle. From there you return to Korb Castle, the starting point of the circular hike. A fantastic tour for everyone!
